Description

Aerial views of center pivot irrigation farming began imprinting in my mind many years ago while flying over the Great Plains above the Ogallala Aquifer. Years later, the circles keep making their way into my artworks on panel. The diptych “Sheridan” is named for the road trip while driving through the state of Wyoming. Railroad tracks and fences became my foregrounds as I viewed more crops irrigated with center pivot systems.

Process: Using water-based pigments, the mixed mediums include mono-printed backgrounds, stained and screen printed surfaces and drawing to add details.

Finish: multiple coats of protective Kumar varnish.

Substrate: A pair of sturdy hangars on each, the 2″ deep cradled panels, ready to hang, are Gessobord by Ampersand. (Archival surface; formaldehyde-free sustainable forest products; made in the USA)
