Castle Danger Birch

Description

This birch grove grew from my original photograph of three birch trees at Castle Danger in Lake County, Minnesota. I digitally manipulated placement, surrounding myself with a birch canopy and view to the sky.

Process: mono-printing with water-based pigments using brayers; screenprinting white birch underlayment; and transferring image (carbon-based toner) with gel medium to gessoed hardwood.

Finish: the cradled panel is sprayed with several coats of protective Kumar varnish
