Description
The winter silhouette of a majestic burr oak tree (Fillmore County, Minnesota) shelters a long view of the tracks crossing Lester River in Duluth, Minnesota.
Process: Original photographs are digitally configured, reversed, and photo-copied, then transferred by gel medium to prepared surface. Using water-based pigments, the mixed mediums include mono-printed backgrounds, block printed patterns and drawing to create a mosaic of color and texture in this depiction of my home state.
Finish: multiple coats of protective Kumar varnish.
Substrate: Wired and ready to hang, the 2″ deep cradled panel is Gessobord by Ampersand. (Archival surface; formaldehyde-free sustainable forest products; made in the USA)
